The additional benefits beyond the basic coverage, which are provided by the private health insurance (PKV), are not deductible.

Yes, it is possible to cancel a private health insurance policy. The regular cancellation can be done with a notice period of three months before the end of the insurance year. Additionally, if there is a premium increase, you are entitled to a special cancellation right. 

In this case, the cancellation notice must be submitted to the provider no later than two months after receiving the notification of the change.
